a few months before heading to northern india, i got in contact with hannes, who had at that time already cycled the karakoram highway in pakistan. we talked about biking in greece, then thought about a trip in canada. suddenly hannes came up with the idea of touring in northern india; a few days later we booked an air-france flight to new dehli. never being in such an exotic country, i first was very upset, nervous and my mind was full of expectations, curiosity and uncertainty.

after all, on this tour i discovered my passion for cycling in asia. so i am very grateful to hannes for accompanying my first steps in the strange and far away continent of asia.
