[MEXICO VI - Yucatan Peninsula]

By bike from Palenque to Merida, then heading east to the Caribean Sea via Chichen Itza, Valladolid and Coba.

Then doing the last kilometers of the whole tour going north along the Caribean Coast - to the final destination - Cancun!

Cycling the mountainous road from Oaxaca to the coast round Puerto Angel - Zipolite and Mazunte. Then by bus from Pochutla to Palenque - with a short stopover in San Cristobal de la Casas.

From Zacatecas through the middle of Mexico to Morelia off the main highways, via Valle de Bravo to Volcano Nevado de Toluca.

Bypassing Mexico City in the south to Izucar de Matamoros. Then straight south-east to Oaxaca.

Starting at the coast in Mazatlan, we then took the hard way and went inland into to the mountains to reach the highlands. From Durango then on to Zacatecas. Very nice!

Heading further south on the beautiful Baja California. Great desert, great bush camping and very nice people. Going from Guerrero Negro to Santa Rosalia and on along the Baia Concepcion. Heading over the mountains from Rosarito to San Isidro and then on to La Paz.

Cycling from Mexicali, at the American border at Calexico, south Highway Number 5 to San Felipe. Further south it was an awful dust road, but beatiful and great scenery to Highway 1. Then along the 1 to Guerrero Negro.

From San Franciso further down the Pacific Coast to Ventura, just before Los Angeles. Then the east turn heading inland into desert. Crossing Joshua Tree National Park and hitting the Mexican border near El Centro.

From Smithers on Highway 16 heading east until Prince George. Then in southern direction with short detours to 100 Mile House and Clinton. Afterwards the mountainous route to Kelly Lake and Lillooet, and then on to Whistler and finally to the amazing city of Vancouver.
